Big Red Hund Passing of a Child

I couldn't imagine what this wonderful family has had to endure, losing a son at 3 and the 4 year old daughter has the same diagnosis, brain cancer. Jamie and Oliver Wyss called my company to do a Memorial Video for their son and they are just such an inspiring couple, that I wanted to share something with my group in here. Michael D. McGuire Gasoline...

I am currently in Salt Lake City, Utah, taking part in a trombone festival with a great many trombonists and makers of trombones. What does this have to do with gasoline?, you might ask. That fact alone has nothing to do with it, except that gasoline, in a place where there are no refineries and all fuel is either piped or driven in, costs but $3.78 per gallon for regular, and a mere $4.02 for premium. Could someone explain why it costs less for a gallon of gas here than it does in California, w… Continue

Michael D. McGuire Inconvenience

It occurred to me very recently that convenience, and its opposite, inconvenience, comprise a great deal of how we all live. Most of us want things to be as convenient as possible and have spent most of our lives trying to make that happen. Now comes Mr. Gore and his movie, "An Inconvenient Truth," and what do most folks do? Ignore it, or try to. It's no surprise to people nowadays that computers are pervasive in just about everything we do. Telephony is no exception. While artificial turf has become a great avenue for homeowners to insure a beautiful green lawn all year long - there are a couple caveats I would like to bring to the table. 1 - Grass Surface is 30%-40% hotter than the air temperatures in the summertime. Since the small granular pieces which are imbeded at the 'root' of the artificial grass are made from recycle car tires they attract heat like an asphalt surface would on a playground. B. Jason Perry Does your auto insurance REALLY cover anyone to drive your vehicle? Or are you taking big risks!!!

This is a common question that I receive from prospects, and clients. Does my insurance cover anyone who drives my car? Many insurance companies tell people that yes they are covered, when in fact they are not covered as much as they may think. Quite a few insurance companies out there do not write what we call "permissive use" policies, many of which you might think they would. This means that although your coverage's may look the same for the liability limits 250/500/100, they… Continue

B. Jason Perry Things to know about your homeowners policy!

I had submitted an article last week regarding homeowners replacement cost and the need to make sure you have adequate coverage here in Southern California as the cost to rebuild a home has increased dramatically. (Most homeowners that I speak with are underinsured by about $60-$80 per sq. ft., because most insurance agents/companies don't do proper research. Most companies use replacement cost calculators that are not accurate for Southern California.) Also, in a comment to an article written… Continue

Tomorrow is Saturday, and instead of going off to a rehearsal with Bone West, I'm going to photograph a wedding. A small wedding in Laguna Beach. I don't do many weddings, mostly because I just don't have the style of most of today's OC wedding photographers: It's all digital, so shoot as many images as possible, say a couple of thousand, because if I shoot enough, I'm bound to get enough good ones.
